1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to TeachR. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TeachR platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a recruitment agency or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. About TeachR
TeachR is a platform that connects supply teachers with recruitment agencies in the United Kingdom. We provide tools for teachers to create profiles, upload professional documents, and communicate with agencies about job opportunities. We do not employ teachers directly—we facilitate connections between teachers and agencies.
3. Eligibility
To use TeachR, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom (for teacher accounts)
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Not have been previously suspended or removed from the Service
4. Account Registration
4.1 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorised access or security breach.
4.2 Account Types
TeachR offers different account types:
- Teacher accounts: For qualified educators seeking supply teaching opportunities
- Agent accounts: For recruitment agency staff (created by TeachR administrators)
- Admin accounts: For TeachR staff managing the platform
5. Teacher Responsibilities
As a teacher using TeachR, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, truthful information about your qualifications, experience, and right to work
- Upload only genuine documents that belong to you
- Keep your profile and documents up to date
- Communicate professionally with agencies
- Not misrepresent your qualifications or availability
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding employment in education
6. Agency Responsibilities
As a recruitment agency using TeachR, you agree to:
- Post only genuine job opportunities
- Provide accurate information about roles, schools, and compensation
- Treat teachers professionally and respond to enquiries in a timely manner
- Use shared documents only for legitimate recruitment and compliance purposes
- Not share or distribute teacher documents or information without authorisation
- Comply with employment law, safeguarding requirements, and data protection regulations
- Conduct appropriate vetting and compliance checks as required by law
7. Document Sharing
7.1 Teacher Control
Teachers retain full control over their uploaded documents. Documents are only shared with agencies when you explicitly grant access. You can revoke access at any time.
7.2 Agency Access
When a teacher shares documents with you, access is granted for a limited period and for the purpose of recruitment and compliance verification only. You must not copy, download for permanent storage, or share documents beyond what is necessary for legitimate recruitment purposes.
7.3 Audit Logging
All document access is logged for security and compliance purposes. Teachers can view who has accessed their documents.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Upload malicious software or content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' accounts
- Scrape, collect, or harvest user data without authorisation
- Circumvent or disable security features
- Use automated systems (bots) to access the Service without permission
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
9. Content and Intellectual Property
9.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you upload (profile information, documents, messages). By uploading content, you grant TeachR a limited licence to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to provide the Service.
9.2 TeachR Content
The TeachR name, logo, website design, and other materials are owned by or licensed to TeachR and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without written permission.
10. Fees and Payment
TeachR is currently free for teachers to use. Agencies may be subject to subscription fees or usage-based charges as detailed in separate agreements.
TeachR is not involved in employment contracts or payment between teachers and agencies. Any financial arrangements are between those parties directly.
11. Disclaimers
11.1 No Employment Relationship
TeachR is a platform that facilitates connections. We do not employ teachers, and we are not responsible for the conduct of agencies or schools. Any employment relationship is between the teacher and the hiring agency/school.
11.2 No Verification Guarantee
While we facilitate document sharing, TeachR does not independently verify teacher qualifications or agency legitimacy. Agencies remain responsible for conducting appropriate due diligence and compliance checks.
11.3 Service Availability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TeachR shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages arising from your interactions with other users
- Damages arising from conduct of agencies or schools
- Damages arising from unauthorised access to your account
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TeachR, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another party.
14. Termination
14.1 By You
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon closure, we will delete or anonymise your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14.2 By TeachR
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we reasonably believe your actions may harm TeachR, other users, or third parties. We will notify you of such actions where practicable.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any legal proceedings.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our platform or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TeachR.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights freely.
